I have tried several different web 2.0 earnings and now, after 1,5 years, it's time for me to review my actions and plan my future. I wrote an article at cyberantweb.com about my views about the direction of web 2.0 earnings. I'll have to say, that there are possibilities, but there sure are challenges. Yesterday I found a really cool online game: Pandemic 2. First day went with Madagascar problem, but today I was capable to win the game for the first time. I can recommend the game, but I'll warn you about time loss, which is inevitable.

  

So I became an author. My book, Groupware Support for Operational Management was published by VDM Verlag this month. Now I can call myself an author or science author, which sounds actually quite cool.

The book is, what the name says, about using groupware to support the task of the operational management. The work of the operational management is divided to functions (planning, organizing, commanding, control and coordinating) and each function is divided to tasks. The the demands of the tasks are analyzed and the type of interaction, information and knowledge work is identified. Same kind of analyze is done with groupware applications. Then using these analyzes, a model, how different groupware features can support operational management is presented.

I've been a columnist at NowPublic about two months. My latest article there is about Bumblebees missing, which have had 147 views.

NowPublic is easy to learn and use. But there is one thing, that author should remember: it's for news articles and not for every story.

Insulting in Internet is a crime of course, but over two years sentence in Finland is arbitrary. Even some killers and rapist do less. With the case of Seppo Lehto blog, Finland's authorities lost the common sense. Was it the Finnish politicians, judges, Vladimir Putin or Mohammed, which was too much?

And I forget to mention... I have a blogger blog in Finish too Hypercyber Paha. I think it good to have a blog for your own language too, where you can write everything you like. List time I was hoping to see Teräsbetoni to win, but that did not happen

Blogger (blogspot) is a company, which Google bought and then integrated to it's architecture. Integration works fine, as you can log into blogger with your Google account and you can add Google Adsense to your blog if you wish.

However with payed blogging Blogger is not that useful. The main reason is, that advertisers wish to avoid places like MySpace, Blogger, Vox etc. places, which are free for users. I have had an Internet blog at Blogger for a year now, but never did payed blogging with it, but I established my own blog with own domain. Windows Live does not seem to be that popular with payed blogging and I have never noticed, that it would be in "not wanted platforms" list.

Blogger has some very useful modules like feed reader, adsense, links, etc, but it never became my thing. Now days I just send few posts to keep the blog alive, but that's all. One thing with Blogger may be, that I have not been able to enter any community there.

Like Lordi, not that many did not believe the victory at Eurovision song contest 2008. But Kirnu knows better and has opened pages for Teräsbetoni's victory already.

Windows Live is not the only site for blogging and social interaction, as we know. One example about other sites is Vox, where I have had a blog, Box, now for less than a year. Vox is an easy platform to learn and you can customize you template. However, it does not give you as much freedom with different modules as does Windows Live (I think that different modules is the best at Windows Live, but you must choose them carefully).

I don't write that often to Box and usually, when I write, it's about my other site, like this article about web earnings. Now after testing several different platforms, I still find Windows Live quite good.

Newsvine is a social news site, which allows it's users to write and seed news articles and run their own news column. Everyone is allowed to join and the idea is, that the community picks those articles, which it considers valuable. I've had my news column - Pasi at Newsvine from 2/2007. For me it is not about writing great news articles but more participating in the community. My most popular article has been a humorous article about Finnish immorality. The pictures from that article was taken at my home town Jyväskylä.

I got away from hospital about week ago and now I've been on sick leave about ten days. So I have been home with my PC and nothing to do. I have had a long time dream to set up my own collaborative web site, and this sick leave gave me time to make an effort.

After one week hard work, I present you a new social media site for different kinds of authors around the World: Kirnu - for free people. At the moment, the site is running and I would be very happy if someone would register there as an author. I have been an active Internet user for years. All started at year 2000, when I started my studies at Information Technology faculty at University of Jyväskylä. In 9/2000 I made my first web pages with Windows Frontpage and next spring I learned more html with HTML kit. Year 2002 I participated on virtual communities course and I became more familiar with IRC, chat & online communities. I specialized in groupware, but after graduating, I went to work with information management.

In years 2004-2006 I just managed few web sites just with notepad and SFTP. All that ended at 2/2007, when I got an assignment from my work to find out different social web sites, and I registered at Windows Live. During that time I had already read about someone earning $25 000 with his Internet video and after a inside joke I registered at PayPal.

So, the facilities and attitude were ready, when I accidentally found PayPerPost company and Revver.  Quite soon I started to blog for money, upload my videos and I started to run my own news column at Newsvine. One thing lead to another and the story about my web earnings is can be read at my cyberantweb blog.

I'm not making very much money, but luckily my earnings are increasing and I'm starting to get a focus to my work. Next step and hopefully the last one for a while, is establishing own social site, which is under construction at the moment.

So, because no one did  not hire me to work with grouptechnologies, I ended up setting my own company. Now let's see, what will happen.
